Local Authority Referral Process

A local authority referral is for professionals exploring specialist or alternative provision to meet statutory responsibilities for a child or young person who is not accessing education in a typical way. We are based in Worcestershire and deliver provision across Birmingham, Solihull, Walsall, Sandwell, and Dudley. Referrals are commonly linked to EHCP planning, interim arrangements, Education Otherwise Than At School packages, or situations where a placement is at risk of breaking down due to anxiety, distress, or unmet needs.

This referral route provides space to outline the child’s current situation, existing plans, and the type of support being explored. We do not provide in-person services outside the West Midlands; however, we may be able to offer online consultation, professional advice, or strategic support, depending on need. All local authority referrals are reviewed promptly, and you will receive a response within 48 hours to discuss suitability, capacity, and potential next steps.
