3 Step Referral Process
This page is the starting point for making a referral to Accepting Behaviour Ltd. It is designed to make the referral process clear, calm, and accessible, whether you are approaching us as a professional or as a family member seeking support. There are three referral routes: school, family, and local authority. Each route exists to reflect the different roles, responsibilities, and information required at the point of referral, and it is important that you select the route that best fits your position. Choosing the right approach helps us quickly understand your context and respond appropriately and effectively.
If you are a school, you may be seeking alternative provision, interim support, or specialist input for a student struggling to cope in a mainstream setting. If you are a family, you may be looking for help during a period of high anxiety, school avoidance, or emotional distress. If you are a local authority professional, you may be exploring specialist alternative support options to meet statutory duties or support an Education Otherwise Than At School package.
Once your referral is submitted, our team will review it carefully. We aim to respond to all referrals within 48 hours. This response may involve requesting further information, arranging an initial conversation, or discussing whether our acceptance-based approach is the right fit for the child or young person you are referring.
We recognise that referrals are often made at difficult points, when families and professionals feel stuck, under pressure, or unsure of the next step. Our first priority is to listen, understand the situation, and determine the best way to support you and the young person involved. Once the referral is received, we review the information and respond within 48 hours with a considered response, including suggested support options and clear package pricing that we believe are appropriate to your situation.
